Rhodonite ....the Stone of Eagles

Rhodonite is a manganese silicate, usually formed as the result of contact metamorphism  when lavas penetrate pre existing rocks and change them at the point of contact by extreme heat and pressure.

It was originally found in the Ural Mountains of Russia.  Local legend said that the eagles of the region often put pieces of Rhodonite in their nests . So the local people placed Rhodonite in babies cribs, hoping they would grow up strong and free like the eagles .

The colour is pink to red , sometimes with   veins of black manganese .

It is thought Rhodonite helps promote self respect, clearing the mind of doubt and anger. May help in reaching ones potential.
