Amber
Some amber pieces have inclusions of plants or insects, which were trapped in the sticky resin and subsequently fossilised. Sometimes Amber may be washed up on the coast from deposits under the sea. It is also mined in areas far from the sea, indicating that those areas were submerged at some point in geological history.

Turquoise
This stone has a vivid sky blue or green-blue colour, often containing grey or brown veins. It has been highly valued by many cultures. The Native Americans believed the stone to be 'the breath of life', symbolising the sky and reminding humans of their spirituality. When worn it strengthens the entire anatomy, brings wisdom and attract friendship. It brings happiness and luck, especially when given as a gift.

During Medieval times those who wore Malachite were said to be protected from the power of witches. The stone afforded special protection for children.

Lapis Lazuli
This stone often contains golden flecks of pyrite (iron sulphide). These golden flecks on the deep blue matrix of the stone resemble a clear star studded sky and thus the stone was known as 'The Night Stone'. Its rich blue colour made it a favourite with royalty. Lapis alleviates depression, relieves heart and spleen problems. A lovely delicate stone the deserves care from its wearer, as it is sensitive to hot water and cosmetics.
