Amber
Amber is often called 'The Gold of the North' - formed over 50 million years ago. Amber is the solidified resin from ancient pine trees. Many of these pine forests died, became covered by sediments and submerged by the Baltic sea. The heat and pressure of the overlying sediment transformed the resin into Amber.

Paua Shell
Paua shell is formed from the inner nacreous shell of molluscs. It is the Maori name for edible sea snails. Paua shell is thought to strengthen and soothe the body, particularly helping with fertility and nurturing.

Lapis Lazuli
This stone often contains golden flecks of pyrite (iron sulphide). These golden flecks on the deep blue matrix of the stone resemble a clear star studded sky and thus the stone was known as 'The Night Stone'. Its rich blue colour made it a favourite with royalty.

Blue Goldstone
A synthetic stone created in Italy by monks practising alchemy. It is reputed to have healing properties due to its copper and gold content. It is believed enhance dreams and the will to do good.

White Mother of Pearl
a smooth, shining, iridescent, organic substance forming the inner layer of the shell of some molluscs. This stone heightens intuition, sensitivity, and imagination and it is said to be a particularly potent stone for the protection of children.

Amethyst
The chemical composition of Amethyst is SiO2 – it is a variety of quartz.
The best varieties are found in Siberia, Sri Lanka and Brazil. The colour is due to traces of iron. The Ancient Greek believed it could prevent intoxication, while medieval soldiers wore amethyst amulets as protection in battle.
