A uniquely shaped Blue Lace Agate gemstone hand set in silver. The setting has a small silver rim around the gemstone and a substantial swirl shank attached at one side to the ring casing base . This is a design feature and the ring is not meant to be re adjusted in size. 

Blue Lace Agate is a form of chalcedony, a microcrystalline quartz. Silica rich solutions containing traces of aluminium hydroxide percolated cavities in pre-existing volcanic rocks. The minerals were precipitated slowly forming the characteristic pale blue banding of this gemstone. 

Due to its delicate colour Blue Lace Agate has historically been associated with female goddesses such as Gaia, Aurora and Callista.
