An unusual Merlinite gemstone with beautiful monochrome banding hand set in silver . There are silver waves on each side of the gemstons and the shank is created from double silver wire with one side unattached . The shank looks as if it may be adjustable but this is just a design feature. 

Merlinite is also kown as Dendritic Agate.  It is an intrusive igneous rock consisting of white opalised agate with black and grey tree like dendrites of psilomelane a black manganese oxide. It is found mainly in New Mexico in the U.S.A. with small deposits in Cornwall U.K.  Cornwall has a deep association with Arthurian legends and myths relating to the sorcerer Merlin hence the name Merlinite evolved.
