An unusual Merlinite gemstone hand set in silver . The ring has wave designs on the sides and the shank consists of double silver wire . The shank is connected at one side to the gemstone and then swirls back on itself creating an interesting feature . However the shank size is not designed to be altered in any way . 

Merlinite is also kown as Dendritic Agate. It is an intrusive igneous rock consisting of white opalised agate with black and grey  tree like dendrites of psilomelane, a black manganese oxide. It is found mainly in New Mexico in the U.S.A. with small deposits in Cornwall U.K.  Cornwall has a deep association with Arthurian legends relating to the sorcerer Merlin hence the name Merlinite evolved.
