Amber is the fossilised resin of ancient pine trees. It was formed during the Eocene geological period about 44 million years ago. Fallen trees  were covered by layers of sediments. The heat and pressure applied by the overlying materials resulted in the process of molecular polymerization which evenually created beautiful natural Amber.

Ancient Romans thought that the rays of the sun were captured in Amber, what a lovely idea! Amber was called The Gold of the North due to its enticing golden hues. It was one of the commodities traded along the famous "Amber Road" which lead from the Baltic to the Mediterranean and then onto the " Silk Route" to the East.

A birthstone for Aries and Leo. Amber is said to promote courage, vitality and personal growth. It is thought to be a powerful healer and cleanser of both body and mind, absorbing negative energy. Amber has long been used as an homeopathic cure as it contains high levels of succinic acid a natural anti inflammatory substance.
