Amber is the fossilised resin of ancient pinr trees existing over 44 million years ago. Once the trees fell to the forest floor they were slowly covered by sediments . The heat and pressure created by the weight of these materials caused resin to oxidise and the process of molecular polymerization created beautiful Amber.

Ancients Romans thought Amber was the gemstone of life and fertility so was often worn by young couples. In Norse legend Amber is linked to Freya the goddess of love, beauty and fertility. Ancient Baltic tribes believed Amber had spiritual and protective qualities. Chinese legends call Amber "the Soul of the Tiger" believing it had the ability to ward off evil and bring protection. The enduring presence of Amber in all cultures exibits is universal appeal. 

Amber is still thought to be a powerful cleanser of body and mind and is associated with vitality and positivity. It is used as a healing cream and is drunk as a tincture . The presence of succinic acid in amber gives it anti inflammatory qualities
